Helpful Guides:

1. Sarah the Zafara knows almost everything about the world of Neopia, so try to stop by and ask her questions.

2. The Shop Wizard can help you search for items and compare prices, so he's pretty much useful in letting you search for the almost perfect price for the perfect item.
Earning NP:
1. First off, creating a user account will automatically earn you 200 NP, and consequently, creating a pet will give you 50 NP. Don't go about creating a lot of pets though, as the maximum pets you can keep in is four, and being a newbie is hard enough with all the pet maintenance you have to spend for each of your pets. Don't try to go about creating pets and putting them in the pound just to earn 50 NP, because it's just plain wrong and you can earn more than 50 NP later on in the game.
2. Opening a bank account at the National Neopian will automatically get you 30 NP, and depositing some or all of your neopoints will get you a daily interest.
3. Enjoy and have fun by playing games, as you can not only have fun, but you can also earn neopoints with an average of about 250-750NP a game. You can only get neopoints by sending your score, as you can only send your score 3 times a day for each game.
4. Join in various contests, and you may just earn about 5000 NP or so- well, what have you got to lose?
Spending NP:
1. Creating a shop will cost about 150 NP, but it's worth it if you had managed to get hold of a rare item, or if you had bought an item in one of Neopia's main shops for a cheaper price. I recommend using the Shop Wizard in searching for the specific item in which you are about to sell, as you will be able to compare prices with others. Sell your items for a bit cheaper amount as compared to the prices shown by the Shop Wizard, and wait patiently if someone buys that item- or not.
Saving NP:
1. The basic necessity of your pet is a nice meal which satisfies their stomach, but if your on a budget, one of these options can most likely get you a free meal.
a) Try the Soup Kitchen if you have under 2000 NP, and the Soup Faerie will give you a tasty meal-for free.
b) Take a bite out of the Giant Jelly if you are lucky.*
c) Approach the Giant Omelette, and hope that you can take a slice out of it.*
*Take note that the jelly and the omelette can run low as others may beat you to it.
2. Haggling or bargaining for cheaper yet reasonable prices at Neopia's main shops will let you save money, but you best know when to stop bargaining, as the shopkeeper might get mad and throw you out of the shop, or someone might beat you to buying that item that you wanted.
Special Prizes:
1. You can claim your Newbie Pack and get really cool items for free, as you have a choice whether to keep these items in your Safety Deposit Box, or sell them for extra NP at your shop.
2. Trying your luck at the Tiki Tack Tombola can get you great prizes. 3. Approaching Coltzan's Shrine once a day will give you a status boost, (Level, HP, Attack, Defense, Agility) some neopoints, or an item.
4. Grabbing free stuff every December at the Advent Calendar will get you free and perhaps rare items, and neopoints to boot.
5. There are still lots more to do, so I recommend that you try your luck in the "Dailies" corner of Neopan.co.nr.
This is all that I can teach you as of now! Once you manage to master all these in mind, your just one step ahead in buying yourself a house, a shop expansion, or many more! Congratulations in graduating in our short but fulfilling Newbie Guide, as in time, you will be ready to take the more advanced steps and methods! Good luck as of now!
