Back in March 2003, aemaen (Mae), then with the account haymemi200, created a guild, 'Rolling Praries United Ascos'. It soon began to grow, along with aemaen's HTML skills. She devoted hours to graphic making, along with her co-owner. Some of these graphics still exist today on this site. However, on September 2, 2003, haymemi200 was frozen, along with all other accounts with admin access. Eventually she created a new account, and set graphic making aside, instead playing just the game for some time, becoming more proficient, and learning more of the ups and downs.
After guild hopping for several months, she eventually created the guild 'Neo Artists'. However, when her co-owner left her, she decided to create 'Once in a Blue Moon'. Around this time, she also created a personal site entitled panthersgem. To add onto this, she decided to make a Neopets fan site doubling as a guild webbie, Neopan. The first version of the site was hosted on freewebs. (Screenshot) Although never super popular, it ran out of bandwidth quickly, and closed down. A few months later, it was reopened, this time with the host Angeltowns. (Header) Angeltowns was slow, and had severe limits, so Neopan was then transferred to Shyper. At first, not much was added, and it remained mostly a guild webbie. (Screenshot)
However, slowly things began to take off. Affiliates were added, and hits began to go over 1,000, with 150+ unique. (Header 1, Header 2) (Topsites 1, Topsites 2) It was at this point that Shyper decided to close down all free hosts, so Neopan was once more shut down. After some searching, Aurexoul became the new host, though Neopan was now simply a guild webbie. (Header 1, Layout 2) During this time, she met outpour (Shawn) and helped create the layout for his neo fan site, neopiandigest.net. All that exists of it today are the forums. Meanwhile, Neopan lay dormant, in need of serious updates. At this point, aemaen did a few graphic requests, and came up with the money for a domain name. Originally she was going to purchase one for her personal site, then decided on a new Neopets fan site. Shawn generously agreed to provide hosting, became co-owner, and snowickle.org was born.
Around April of 2006, we had trouble with our host. Eventually in August, Leia generously offered space alongside her site kadoatie.org, and snowickle.org was able to rebuild!
